Erica Freas, singer/guitarist of pop punk heroes RVIVR has just released a self titled solo release entitled ‘Belly’, consisting of 10 songs of acoustic goodness. The recordings are extremely bare, there is little to no production on the recordings, so it’s easy to hear these songs at their very core. At times, I do wish she’d do a bit of doubling on the vocals or extra instrumental work, but it’s also refreshing to hear something so basic. Click on the picture to be taken to the bandcamp page. So far ‘The Sound’ has been getting the repeat for me.
DESAPARECIDOS IS GOING ON TOUR!
After a 10 year hiatus, Desaparecidos is hitting the road, and hitting the paradise on February 24th. Color me fucking psyched, high school car rides all over again! Also, apparently they recorded two new songs a couple months ago which somehow got past me. I was a little nervous when I heard this, but it sounds like they never took their foot off the throttle.

Awesome show tonight at O’Briens, super psyched to see Big Eyes, catchyish poppyish punkish awesomeness, and of course local bad boys Sneeze.
The title inherently sounds like an oxymoron or some sort of lame joke, seeing as though the vast majority of tunes that comes out of the western portion of our great state is fast, 4/4 timing, and covered in distortion. But HOME BODY, from Northhampton, MA makes some smooth electronic jams that may not get you jumping out of your chair to dance the night away, but it has it’s right time and place. For example, a cold Tuesday morning.
Depressing on so many levels

It’s true, the name synonymous with house shows in Allston has been shut down forever, supposedly even kicking out the residents. Details are scarce at the moment, but 99% sure that this is forrealz.
Speaking of Local Bad Boys, here’s an awesome song/video from the artist himself. Complete with hockey fights, 80’s animation, and that Bruce Springsteen font that just won’t stop.
